About me

I am a Holistic Yoga Therapist certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and have also been certified by Yoga Alliance as a yoga teacher with over 1000 hours of teaching experience.

I was first drawn to integrating yoga with my daily life over two decades ago. I found myself overwhelmed, juggling the responsibilities that come with being a parent and spouse while still maintaining my career. This took a toll on my self-esteem. I began to question if I was in the right place, feeling that I didn’t and couldn’t live up to the standard that I had held myself to. This lack of balance in my mental state presented itself physically as well, especially concentrated as newfound chronic pains in my back. Regardless of where my path has taken me, both the physical and mental aspects of yoga have helped me manage the ups and downs of life. Therapeutic yoga practice, as well as digging deeper into yoga philosophy, has been a great help when dealing with my own physical injuries as well as mental health challenges. Slowly it became my super power to share.

My yoga education started with acquiring a Hatha yoga teacher certificate in 2016 from PIES Fitness Yoga School, Alexandria, VA. Over the years I have supplemented my education under Yoga International, Radiance Yoga, Yoga Ed., YogaRenew, American Viniyoga Institute, American Fitness Professionals & Associates, Satchidananda Ashram – Yogaville and the Institute of Conscious Evolution, acquiring complementary certifications for Yoga Therapy for the Neck and Shoulders, Yoga Therapy for the Low Back, Sacrum and Hips, Your Spine – Your Yoga, Yin Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Trauma Informed Yoga for Kids, Teens and Youth, and Mat Pilates among others. Slowly but surely through years of practice and additional training I became certified yoga therapist in 2022.

You are not behind. You are not ahead.
You will be met right where you are.
I look forward to getting to know you!

My focus has always been the functional side of yoga, where mindful physical practice together with self-appreciative meditation works as a powerful tool in balancing body and mind. This angle has lead me to teach therapeutic and adaptive yoga, varying from flow and strength building to restorative and meditative practices for clients on all levels and in all age groups. I have been lucky to have amazing teachers from different trainings, and am thankful for all my clients and what they’ve taught me, most notably my long term biweekly sessions where I worked with adults who have various physical and/or neurological disabilities. I have learned the most from these classes, namely that an environment where clients are seen and listened to is the most powerful tool one can have as therapist.

I consider Yoga Therapy to be a perfect way to bring together the abundant potential of yoga and peoples specific needs.
